How to Catch Deceitful, Duplicitous and Dubious (DDD) Charges on your Credit Cards

laurel and hardy prevent fraudulent bank charges

Do you even check your credit card statements? Do you even bother to verify if the charges were accurate? I know some of you don’t, and even if you do, are you sure you have the eye to catch a DDD charge? Well, like I always say, “rest your worries coz technology is here to save your day”.

Here’s Billguard. It is a free online tool which analyzes your bank statement using the data that they gathered from numerous bank records and better Business Bureau Complaints. BillGuard uses what the company calls “collective consumer vigilance” and its own automated tests to help protect against unauthorized and unwanted charges or even just subscriptions you’ve forgotten about. Each time a user verifies or flags a transaction in BillGuard, it makes BillGuard a bit smarter and strengthens its power to act as “antivirus for your bills.”

If you are apprehensive of sharing your bank information to another cloud-based application like this, you may opt out of it. But the company assures its potential users that it is safe because what they have is a  “read only” access to your bank accounts. If you are familiar with Mint, a personal finance management application, they basically treat your bank records the same way.Let’s take a look at this video and you decide later whether it’s worth the risk.
